Our Spring Coil elements replace the original spring coil type elements in older stoves. Spring Coils come unstretched, but will extend to over eight feet. To install, unstring the old coil from the element frame. Lay the old coil out to its full length and stretch the new coil evenly to match the size of the old one. Last, restring the element frame in the same fashion as the original.
Buyer's Tip: Check the identification tags on the stove and/or on the element frame for a wattage rating. If no rating is present, we recommend 2000 watt coils be used in ovens and broilers and 1000 watt coils be used on surface burners. One Spring Coil will replace one coil in your stove, so be sure to order the proper quantity. Some oven elements contain two coils. Most 1950's Westinghouse stoves use 2 of the 1700 watt elements.
